How ranking works on outbid.co.nz

outbid.co.nz is a pay-to-rank leaderboard where the highest total bid in New Zealand dollars holds #1. There are no ads, no API keys and no revenue share. Rank is what you pay — nothing else.

How a listing gets a rank

You paste a product URL or an X handle you are authorised to represent, pick a category, choose a whole-dollar amount, and pay through Stripe. A completed payment claims whatever rank that amount then supports. Rank is assigned when payment is confirmed, not when the form is submitted.

New listings are whole New Zealand dollars, $10 minimum, $999,999 maximum, $1 at a time. Paying less than the current #1 price still puts you on the board at whatever place that amount can take.

How you take #1

Taking #1 on outbid.co.nz costs at least $5 more than the current #1. If the leader has paid $100, first place costs $105. There is no other way to jump the leader.

What happens on a tie

When two listings have paid the same amount, the older listing keeps the higher rank. A later listing cannot take that place by matching the number.

Raising your own listing

If your URL or @handle is already on the board, enter it again. The new total must be at least $1 above your current rank. Checkout only charges the difference.

Is the rank permanent?

A listing does not expire. First place is not guaranteed forever. Anyone who pays at least $5 more than the current #1 takes that spot. Being outranked does not refund the money already paid. See the refund policy.

What is blocked

Chat and invite links are blocked, including Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord and Signal. Sexual content and adult platforms are blocked. Tracking query strings are stripped from listing URLs.

If two people check out at once

The price you see on the claim form is the board at that moment. Checkout is not a reservation. Two people can both start paying $105 when #1 is $100.

Rank is assigned when Stripe confirms the payment. Both payments are accepted. Each listing lands at whatever place that confirmed amount then supports. If both pay the same amount, the older listing keeps the higher rank. The second listing is not refunded for missing first place.
